Pregnancy is a state of having a foetus or baby in the womb with the purpose of undergoing child birth.
Rise of unwanted pregnancies can be attributed to a variety of factors, including lack of access to education and contraception, societal stigma, and economic challenges. It is essential to address these issues in order to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and improve the well-being of individuals and families.
In our society today, unwanted pregnancy has risen to it's peak among our youths. During the 'then days', the times of our fore parents, it is so difficult to see a teenager or an adult who is pregnant without getting married but today, it's the opposite.
These are the causes and effects of Unwanted Pregnancy:
1. Lack of parental care
This is the number one causes of unwanted pregnancy because when when parents neglect their duty towards their wards at and fails to enlighten them on sex and the effects of having an unwanted pregnancy, the result always comes out negative.
2.Peer pressure
When parents fails in their duty towards their kids, the children gets taught by the society comprising of friends, classmates, social media, etc; leading to the waywardness of those children which will affect their tomorrow.
3.Disregard to the advice of parents
Sometimes, parents are not actually the cause of the nastic behaviors of their children.
Some kids have a very stubborn character that prevents them to heed to their parents advice. But when you play your role as a parent very well, it's left for them to heed to your advice at their adolescent-adult stage of life or do the opposite. Just like a popular saying 'you can take a horse to the stream but you can't force it to drink water.
4. Economic Factors
This can play a significant role in the rise of unwanted pregnancies. Individuals and families facing financial hardships may struggle to afford contraception and reproductive health services. Additionally, the costs associated with pregnancy and childcare can be overwhelming for those who are not financially prepared, leading to increased stress and strain on individuals and families.
5. Lack of contentment
This can be another major cause of unwanted pregnancy. when the parents lacks the ability to provide for their children all they needed; the fatherly love; the motherly love and some necessary material things like clothing and shelter, the children has no option than to find solace in engaging in all sorts of illicit behaviors like prostitution just to have a taste of 'good life'.
How do we curb this Unwanted Pregnancy in our society?
1. Parents should start educating their children about the cause and effects of premarital sex at their very tender age.
2. Introduction of sex education in school.
3. Abstainance from premarital sexual relationship.
4. Use of contraceptives.
