UNCONSENTED MARRIAGE

Before we go into our topic, first of all, let us define what marriage is all about.

Marriage is simply defined as the legal  union between two matured people; most especially a man and a woman.

Let's make a little explanation on the word legal.
What was the first thing that comes to your mind whenever you hear the word legal?

Well, it can be defined in so many ways but one way to describe legal when it come to marriage is simply the approvement of two people; two families to come together as one family.

In the world; specifically in Africa, when a man and a woman agrees to marry each other without the consent or approvement of both families, that marriage is likely to be in jeopardy or jeopardized.

To avoid having a failed marriage, one has to consider this fees things below.

1. First you need to get more closer to someone you feel that you could spend the rest of your life with.

You undergo courtship to ascertain the characters and behaviors of your spouse to be. Find out his/her likes and dislikes; the way he reacts to critical matters; anger mode and how he/she reacts when in that mood.

2. Does your spouse to be have any genuine feelings for you?

It is always said that you can't force someone to love you; true. Someone might have feelings for you but he/she might not truly love you.

For someone to like you, you must first of all like the person; for someone to love you, you must know what it means to love.

Someone can get married to you even without having any feeling for you but be rest assured that you will be the one making all the sacrifices for that marriage to work until you get to a point when you can no longer endure.

3. Does he/she understands you?

Find out if your spouse to be has the ability to understand even little things.

A marriage is firm when there is understanding and commitment between the man and the woman.

Even without loving your spouse wholeheartedly, as long as both of you understands each other and commit to each other, your marriage will work more than those in love without understanding each other.

4. Does your family approve of that marriage?

As Africans most especially the Nigerians residing in the south eastern part, before a woman accepts a man to be his husband; there is always a thorough examination between the both families

Some secret examinations done are:
A. To ascertain the Family background.

B. To know if they suffer incurable or deadly disease in their lineage.

C. To be certain that there is no criminal or suicide records committed by the fore parents/members of both families.

D. Lastly; spiritual examination:

This is done to make sure that both families do not have any thing hindering their marriage spiritually which might result to the inability to bear children, sudden death, divorce, etc.

After you must have read the above, what do you think?
